A Policy Sure to Impoverish Us All - Obama Hates Oil/America

Why does Obama hate oil so much? Why Why Why? Could it be that oil and all the products that are derived from it represents American freedom to travel and ingenuity? Could it be that Obama resents American freedom and ingenuity...our can do spirit? What else can one make of this administration's utter disregard for the fact that America needs oil to function and that we have abundant oil and that we need to drill for it. Ask yourself what it accomplishes. Only one thing - to make us impoverished and to force us to downscale our lives as a consequence.

The day before President Obama was inaugurated, the average price of a gallon of gas was $1.83, the Heritage Foundation notes. Today it's well over $3 and on the way to $4. Prices for this February and last December were the highest ever for those months.

While we sit on abundant oil and natural gas reserves, prices at both the wellhead and the pump are rising on fears of spreading Mideast turmoil and short domestic supply. But then, maybe that's the plan.

The silver lining for this administration in the gathering storm over the Middle East may be what it's doing and may yet do to energy prices. The average price for gasoline jumped nearly 12 cents a gallon last week to $3.287, according to AAA. But at the White House, that's not necessarily bad news.

...The administration's hostility to fossil fuels is documented. Immediately on taking office, Interior Secretary Ken Salazar canceled 77 leases for oil and gas drilling in Utah. Recently, in a stunning land grab, Salazar issued an order allowing Bureau of Land Management officials to place land with "wilderness characteristics" off-limits to energy development. Some 6 million acres in energy-rich Utah would be affected...

...John Hofmeister, former president of Shell Oil, told Platt's Energy Week Television that Americans could be paying $5 for a gallon of gasoline by 2012 based on the uncertainty of world events, the lack of domestic supply and increased worldwide demand fueled by countries like India and China.

Democrats once accused Big Oil of deliberately restricting supply to enrich itself. Now the Obama administration may be doing the same on purpose — a policy sure to impoverish us all. READ "Does Obama Want $8 Gallon Gasoline?

Stand Tall Obama - Stand Tall against Tyrants

Why is this man, Obama grovelling at King Abdullah's feet? Good question! Does he find an affinity with this king of a desert country that produces nothing but oil (which by the way was nationalized aka stolen from the countries that actually discovered and brought up this oil...the Arabs did not even know what it was!)

Yesterday when Barack Obama met with the Queen of England in the Queen’s Palace in the United Kingdom, he merely offered her a handshake. However, King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia, a man who presides over a nation where women are considered to be less than 3/5 human, got a whole bow from Barack Obama (READ).

"Sacrifice For Thee - But Not For Me

If your interested in Al Gore's CO2 gases coming out of his mouth go here. At Americans for Prosperity you can view a video of Gore's arrival at an event in Washington where I suppose he was going to bloviate on "global warming". The hypocrisy of this man is astounding (video) watch as he and Tipper step out of their gas guzzling limo - not 1 but 3! No sacrifice for this man!
Also he has the nerve to compare his endeavors to get rid of oil, the engine that has fueled modern civilization's incredible advances and growth - to JFK 's challenge to put a man on the moon. Kennedy wanted us to use fuel to further mankind, Gore want's to take away the fuel of our industries to put us back 500 years! Mr Al Gore - you are no JOHN F. KENNEDY!

Betting on Brains or Oil

Thomas Friedman has an editorial in the NY Times "People vs Dinosaurs" where he brings to our attention the scenario of two opposing foes who bet on the future of Israel. Iran's Ahmadinejad bet that Israel “has reached its final phase and will soon be wiped out from the geographic scene.” But America's Buffet thinks the contrary and has invested lots of money in this tiny country of 7 million. What he has invested in is the brain power of Israel.

...So who would you put your money on? Buffett or Ahmadinejad? I’d short Ahmadinejad and go long Warren Buffett.

Why? From outside, Israel looks as if it’s in turmoil, largely because the entire political leadership seems to be under investigation. But Israel is a weak state with a strong civil society. The economy is exploding from the bottom up. Israel’s currency, the shekel, has appreciated nearly 30 percent against the dollar since the start of 2007.

The reason? Israel is a country that is hard-wired to compete in a flat world. It has a population drawn from 100 different countries, speaking 100 different languages, with a business culture that strongly encourages individual imagination and adaptation and where being a nonconformist is the norm. While you were sleeping, Israel has gone from oranges to software, or as they say around here, from Jaffa to Java.

...Iran has invented nothing of importance since the Islamic Revolution, which is a shame. Historically, Iranians have been a dynamic and inventive people — one only need look at the richness of Persian civilization to see that. But the Islamic regime there today does not trust its people and will not empower them as individuals.

...Iran’s economic and military clout today is largely dependent on extracting oil from the ground. Israel’s economic and military power today is entirely dependent on extracting intelligence from its people. Israel’s economic power is endlessly renewable. Iran’s is a dwindling resource based on fossil fuels made from dead dinosaurs.

So who will be here in 20 years? I’m with Buffett: I’ll bet on the people who bet on their people — not the people who bet on dead dinosaurs. READ

In the News: Capitalism Is the Best System for Liberating the Individual

Some items are all coming to a head and showing clearly the differences between Socialism/Communism/religious tyranny and Capitalism. Obama desperately needs to have a refresher on history because he seems to be wanting to lead us down the path of Socialism. (Not that Clinton would be any better).

"For at least a century, we have known beyond a doubt how a nation may lift itself up from endemic poverty to universal prosperity. All it requires is that we allow men to act on self-interest—". (Robert Tracinski at The Intellectual Activist).

1. Obama is showing his true colors lately and we're finding out that he is a socialist and he doesn't know history. He favors big government and he wants to talk to tyrants with no pre-conditions. Didn't Chamberlain do that with Hitler? Also, Obama has a lot of fishy friends like 60's radicals that liked to play with bombs. "Whether it’s Billy Ayers or Bernadine Dohrn, Tom Hayden or Jane Fonda, or any of the other lesser-knowns, 60s Marxist radicals are lining up behind Obama. Obama’s young worshippers think they see something altogether new, a unique persona, seemingly magically transported to this moment in history to help them finally be the ones to net the elusive butterfly of socialism’s never-realized promise." (National Review).

2. China's tyrants are paying the piper for their despotism. Corrupt local official who control a lot of everyday life still have been faulted with schools crashing in on thousands of students. The families are irate because in many cases they lost their ONLY child. Remember the one child policy? Well the Chinese political hacks are quaking in their boots and have now allowed couples to have another child to replace their lost one. But the people are screaming for blood. It'll be interesting to see if they decide to go all the way and demand total freedom. (Read).

3. We do not believe that Shell or Exxon executives are corrupt or make too much money. For goodness sakes most of us have money invested in this industry in our retirement plans. That luminary Representative Maxine Waters (D-Calif) not withstanding, I think that people clearly see that the current state of affairs regarding oil prices is totally due to government regulations and meddling in private affairs of the people. There are more and more demands that "government HANDS OFF". Let us drill for oil, build nuclear power plants and dig for coal and gas. We should have a march on Washington. THE MILLION PEOPLE MARCH FOR PRODUCING MORE ENERGY!
