Jim McDermott and Sylvester Reyes - Shame On You!

There is no end to the craven attitude of the Obama administration - clearly showing us that it has no love or concern for this great nation or the people who inhabit it. Now they want to criminalize the CIA officers who use harsh interrogation techniques. what's next? That we should house the terrorists in a plush hotel and give them breakfast in bed while our soldiers in that Middle East hell-hole have to hold their fire if there is even one civilian among the enemy?

...Thanks to the vigilance of a couple of bloggers and House Republicans — Rep. Peter Hoekstra, in particular — the $50 billion intelligence authorization bill was stripped of a last-minute amendment that would have made criminals of many U.S. intelligence agents.

Specifically, the Democratic amendment sought to impose prison time and huge fines on CIA and other intelligence operatives who treated their captives in a "cruel, inhuman and degrading way."

Sounds very high-minded. But of course, "cruel, inhuman and degrading" are in the eye of the beholder.

Among the transgressions the bill would have outlawed were "exploiting the phobias of the individual," "depriving the individual of necessary food, water, sleep, or medical care," or even "cramped confinement" or "prolonged isolation."

These are so vague as to be meaningless. A lawyered-up terrorist suspect, working through one of Attorney General Eric Holder's lenient civil courts, could have a field day with this new law.

Think about it: Virtually any agent who in the line of duty did anything to anyone — ranging from shaking a suspect to handcuffing someone in an uncomfortable position to even keeping the air conditioner too low during a terrorist's interrogation — could serve hard time for the crime.

And yes, we do mean hard time. The minimum prison sentence under the bill was 15 years. Imagine spending a quarter of your adult life behind bars because you shoved some terrorist dirtbag a bit too hard into a CIA paddy wagon.

The real outrage is that no one even knew this was in the bill. It was slipped in at the last moment by Democratic Rep. Jim McDermott, obviously with the connivance of the Democratic leadership and Intelligence Committee Chairman Sylvester Reyes...

The Obama Merry-Go-Round of Anti-Americanism

And it goes on and on and on and on....when will the merry-go-round stop? Nobody knows. The current evil that our military did was fight Al Qaeda and actually use torture to extract crucial information! Wow! Maybe Obama and Holder have some supernatural power to extract information from these terrorists (who by the way will die gladly for their cause) using soft pillows and Hilton Hotel luxury beds. IBD's "The Justice Department's War on Heroes" asks how will our sworn enemies view this weakness. All these people understand is power - I'll leave it to you to guess what may happen under this administration to our soil and people.

If you look closely, you can see insidious attempts to weaken Americans' post-9/11 resolve to win against Islamist terrorism, no matter what it cost or how long it took.
Pentagon staff members were informed a mere two months after President Obama's inauguration, for instance, that we were no longer engaged in a "global war on terror"; what America was now waging was an "overseas contingency operation."

Then in April, as the American Spectator's Matthew Vadum pointed out Monday, the president signed a law re-jiggering 9/11 into a "National Day of Service" that will demean the Pearl Harbor Day of the 21st century "into a celebration of ethanol, carbon emission controls, and radical community organizing." The latest media kerfuffle over the supposedly secret "plan" to kidnap or kill al-Qaida leaders shows just how pathetic our Congress has become. Gee, aren't we supposed to kidnap or kill the enemy?

The Democrats, still stinging from the stunning revelation that Rep. Nancy Pelosi lied about being briefed by the CIA about waterboarding, have whipped up a new spy scandal to even the score against the CIA.

To make it even more damaging, they've thrown in former Vice President Dick Cheney for good measure, charging that he pushed a covert program to kill or capture al-Qaida's leaders through the CIA. The plan began after 9/11, when President Bush authorized a secret program to capture or kill al-Qaida terrorists.

This is a rare two-fer for the Democrats: They protect one of their own (Pelosi) while going after the now departed bogeyman (Cheney), whom they've tried to build up as an archvillain who tricked Americans into deposing Iraq's lovable Saddam Hussein. (READ HERE)

Obama Gives Aid and Comfort to Terroritsts

The CIA stands for Central Intelligence Agency whose job it is TO PROTECT US!!!!!!!! and for the head of this most important agency one would think you'd want a guy with some kind of experience or at least knowledge about this agency. Well folks we have the spectacle of a President of the United States sending a message to all the rotten terrorists around the world. Obama might as well shout it on the BBC:

"Hey, terrorists - come on over and do what you will the door is wide open cause I, Obama, just chose Leon Pannetta to be head of the CIA - no really - he has no experience. It'll be a cake walk!" Ralph Peters a former career intelligence office in the US army writes:

The director's job at the CIA isn't a party favor. This is potentially a matter of life and death for thousands of Americans. But the choice of Panetta tells us all that Barack Obama doesn't take intelligence seriously.

Mark my words: It'll bite him in the butt.

After the military, the intel community is the most complex arm of government. You can't do on-the-job training at the top. While a CIA boss needn't be a career intelligence professional, he or she does need a deep familiarity with the purposes, capabilities, limitations and intricacies of intelligence.

Oh, and you'd better understand the intelligence bureaucracy.
Sen. Diane Feinstein (D-Calif.), who was blindsided - and appalled - by the Obama mafia's choice, has the essential knowledge of how the system works. She, or a similar expert, should have gotten this nod. But the president-elect wanted a clean-slate yes-man, not a person of knowledge and integrity.

We're witnessing the initial costs of Obama's career-long lack of interest in foreign policy, the military and intelligence. He doesn't think the top job at the CIA's important and just wants political cover on that flank.

...Panetta's appointment is a sop to the hard left, a signal that intelligence will be emasculated for the next four - or eight - years.
