How The Past Informs the Present - Istanbul Super Tunnel

MSN Video

The engineers in Istanbul were building a super tunnel for trains that would go under the Bosporus and in their digging they found a hugh ancient Roman built harbor from the 4th century A.D. which archaeologists concluded had been most likely destroyed by a tsunami. This discovery has helped the engineers to understand new aspects for this train tunnel that need to be incorporated into the design to avoid devastation by another possible tsunami. See this incredibly interesting video for more on this.
