I think Americans should be required to undergo testing when they graduate from High School regarding their understanding of our greatest President - George Washington. It is simply amazing how this man almost single-handedly held together our new born nation amidst war with the British Empire, internal dissent of all kinds, insurrections and the underhandedness of the French. And he did this without lobbyists, cronyism or much payment. There was nothing in it for him except the burning loyalty and pride in a new United States that would live free from the yoke of tyranny.
Washington was the indispensable man of his time. Is McCain or Obama that man for our time? I have the gravest of doubts.
